Anchorage, Alaska, Aviation Photos
While operating with the 10th Rescue Squadron in 1947 at Elmendorf Air Force Base, this 1943 PBY 5A Catalina Canso made a forced landing at Dago Lake on the Alaska Peninsula. Abandoned there, it was sold and stripped, then finally recovered by the Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum in 1984.
