- I want to see Inuit working in Nunavut
- so there would be more job opportunities.
- it looks the same today, except for the Inuit getting together is our hope.
- my hope is the Inuit will have their own Government in Nunavut.
- it won’t change Qikiqtarjuaq.
- hunting, Education from our father’s, mother’s, teacher’s and other’s.
- some will change, some will become better.
- it’s a new thing starting, our own Government, it would be the same thing as today, it won’t change.
- the good thing about our community is, it’s a wonderful community and we have inuksuk on a mountain, we also have big huge mountains.
What would you change about our community?
- in our community the best thing is,arviujaq, theres also radio station.
- we have qammaq Qikiqtarjuaq is a nice community, and we will be getting our Government and it also has a water and sewer truck.
- the best thing I like about our community is that it has a swimming pool, arena, housing association because they provide as a house, the nice weather we get, it’s a beautiful land, out on the land berrypicking, I really enjoy going out on the land.
- in winter we can go for ski-doo rides, sliding, bicycles and boating in summer, it is fun, also going after the weasle’s and lemming’s.
- our community Qikiqtarjuaq, our community has nice weather.
What would you change about our community?
- paved roads
- extend the airstrip so that jets can come in.
- make sure we don’t have a bar.
- have a smoking room at the school.
- clean up DEW line site
- get a restaurant
- have a laundry room for hockey equipment
- have a president
- new Health Centre
- get a shopping mall
- extend the school
- school Bus
- extend the swimming pool
- extend the Arena
- have good jobs available
- gym just for kids 10 - 14
- new Post Office
- get nicer teacher’s
- get a detention room for kids who don’t listen
- get a cafeteria at the school
- extend Co-op

- Our community’s name means "big island."

- jobs, finishing School, carving, sewing, welfare, hunting, business, family allowance, fishing, outfitting, dog teams
What do people do for fun in Qikiqtarjuaq?
- they dance with joy
- they pray, they go to church
- with games they try to win
- they work together, and greet each other
- when they win hockey games they are happy
- they hug each other with love
- they play games outside
- when there is a birthday party they have games
- when the games are hosted at the gymnasium
- on special occasions, Christmas, Happy easter and other occasions they enjoy them
- on valentines day when other special days come they enjoy them
