Klondike

Is this the original compass from the Klondike? The owner in Washington State was given this compass by a relation of a man who apparently removed it from the ship some time after the war. The man also acquired the Klondike's barometer and a ship's clock, the latter having two large bells mounted on top. According to Ritchie Brothers of Boston, the manufacturers of the compass, it was originally sold on March 18, 1893 to a client recorded as "Negus" (believed to be a wholesaler of marine equipment). It was for sale on eBay in June 2002, but the bids didn't reach the reserve.
