- Carnival Corp. took over Cunard in 1999, transferred the ship to their Seabourn Cruise Line division as Seabourn Sun late that year
- Ship transferred to Holland America Lines (HAL) on April 23, 2002, entered service with HAL on June 3, 2002
- A previous HAL ship by this name burned and sank off the Alaska coast in 1980 -
