A massive amount of work was done of the right-of-way between Bennett and Carcross, including replacing most of the wooden pilings on the Carcross bridge with steel ones.
It was thrilling to see the Caseys back at work, although all the pounding scared away the grayling from what had been one of the best fishing spots around!
The magic moment!! - General Electric #97 was the first locomotive to cross the Carcross bridge in 15 years.
This was the most exciting day in Carcross in many years - lots of period costumes, a free pancake breakfast, and old-timers telling stories at every opportunity.
The "Ton of Gold" special as it left Carcross on July 12- seen from the patio of my cabin (quite a spot for a train nut to have, eh?)
