For me, Totem Bight isn't just a great place to go for totem poles, it's also a great place to go tidepooling - the large rocky beach along Tongass Narrows offers, in particular, intertidal pools where a large number of marine plant and animals species can be found, as well as the odd artifact from Ketchikan's heydays as a forestry center.
