Ketchikan, Alaska, Photo Album
This octopus, often termed "devilfish" in early accounts, is at the base of the Land Otter Pole, a Haida pole carved in 1947 by John Wallace from Hydaburg. Octopi are important totem crests of the Tlingit and Haida, and there are Devilfish clans as subclans of the Raven moiety.
