I was very disappointed to discover while writing the notes for this album that the Deer Mountain Tribal Hatchery & Eagle Center was closed in 2013 due to a reduction in federal funding that the operation had been receiving. The hatchery produced king and silver salmon and steelhead trout, and the tours were excellent.
