One of the many ore chutes that can still be seen in the massive concrete-and-steel ruins of the Gastineau Mill. The mill, which used used gyratory, jaw, and roll crushers, as well as tube mills to crush the ore rather than the stamps normally used at that time, was designed to process 6,000 tons of ore per day, but instead processed 12,000 tons per day at less than the projected cost.
