1985 Northern Discovery Flight
Stewart was the first place where we discovered that you can't even trust government documents when you're flying in remote areas. Although the Department of Transport's airport guide said that fuel was available, it wasn't. At that time, using car gas in an airplane was illegal (if I remember correctly, the lead in the car gas rotted aircraft hoses), but that was our only option.
