Mrs. Fred Gray Passed Away Suddenly In Local Hospital Friday, 1946

It came as a great shock to this community when it became known that Mrs. Fred Gray passed away suddenly in the local hospital last Friday following an operation. She had entered the hospital two days previously. The grief to the only surviving daughter, Mrs. Lucille Carmichael, is the more poignant as her father passed away suddenly on July 26th last.

When Mrs. Carmichael left Whitehorse for her home in Miami, Florida about a fortnight ago little did she think that she would not be seeing her mother alive again.

The funeral service was held Sunday at the Old Log Church, Rev. Canon L. G. Chappell, L. Th., officiating. Interment tookplace in the local cemetery.

Unfortunately, due to abnormal travel conditions, Mrs. Carmichael, toward whom the greatest sympathy is extended, was unable to be present at either funeral services. She is expected to arrive in Whitehorse in the near future.
