Obituary

LENA PECK NICHOLSON

    A resident of the Yukon for 30 years, Mrs. John J. Nicholson died in Whitehorse General Hospital on Monday July 19, after an illness of several months.

    Born Lena Peck, in Little Pond, Cape Breton 66 years ago, she travelled to Dawson City in 1930 to marry another Cape Breton native. She and Mr. Nicholson moved to Whitehorse in 1944. She was predeceased by her husband in 1950 and had since then made a home for their three children, William, of Whitehorse and Watson Lake, Mary, in the CNT officer here and John, of the University of Ottawa who travelled from Belgium recently to visit his mother.

    Mrs. Nicholson will be buried from Sacred Heart Cathedral Saturday morning at ten o'clock. Interment will take place in the family plot in the Whitehorse cemetery. The family has requested In Memoriam donations to the Cancer Fund.
