Headline: George A. Walker of B.Y.N. Co. Commisary Died This Morning, 1946

We much regret having to report the death of Mr. George A. Walker who passed away at five o'clock this morning in the General Hospital in his 55th year.

Born in Victoria, V. I., on December 31 1891 he came north and entered the service of the British Yukon Navigation Co. Ltd. in whose employ he had been for the past 35 years. He first worked in the shipyards but for the past twenty odd years has been store foreman at the company's commissary.

The late Mr. Walker has been in ill health for sometime past and entered the local hospital a few days ago for medical treatment. His untimely death came as a great shock to this community. He leaves to mourn his loss two daughters, Mrs. Don Murray and Phyllis, and a son Alden besides relatives in Victoria, to all of whom sincerest sympathy is extended in their bereavement.

Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Canon L. G. Chappel, will be held in Christ Church Sunday at 3 p.m.
