Headline: Rufus Walters Dies in Skagway, 1964

    Rufus Walters, of Whitehorse, died at the White Pass Hospital in Skagway at 12:15 a.m. last Sunday. He is survived by his wife, Florence, Whitehorse, and a sister whose address is unknown.

    Mr. and Mrs. Walters were in Skagway visiting Florence's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Boss for the past 10 days and Rufus was ill for several days last week, but the family did not realize he was so seriously sick.

    Mr. Walters was born in Valley View, Alta. on June 4, 1922. He has lived in the Yukon Territory since 1950. The body will be returned to Whitehorse and funeral arrangements announced here. Mrs. Phyllis Dickson of Juneau, sister of Mrs. Florence Walters, came up Sunday afternoon to accompany the Boss family to Whitehorse for the funeral.
