The History of Ferry

Ferry lies on the Nenana River, 39 miles south of Nenana in the Denali Borough. It is located at mile 371.2 of the Alaska Railroad. It lies at approximately 64° 01' N Latitude, 149° 07' W Longitude . The community is located in the Nenana Recording District. The area encompasses 87 sq. miles of land and 0 sq. miles of water.

The name was originally published as a railroad station in 1922. The railroad work camp at Ferry brought settlers.
