The History of Jakolof Bay
Jakolof Bay is on the Kenai Peninsula, in the Kachemak Bay State Park, 6.5 miles northeast of Seldovia. It lies at approximately 59° 28' N Latitude,
151° 32' W Longitude . The community is located in the Seldovia Recording District. The area encompasses 20 sq. miles of land and 7 sq. miles of water.
The local name was first reported in 1915 by the U.S. Geological Survey. The current population of Jakolof Bay is primarily non-Native.
