The History of Lake Minchumina

Lake Minchumina is located north of Mount McKinley in Interior Alaska. It lies at approximately 63° 53' N Latitude, 152° 19' W Longitude (Sec. 08, T012S, R024W, Fairbanks Meridian). The community is located in the Fairbanks Recording District. The area encompasses 73 sq. miles of land and 22 sq. miles of water.

Historically a Native area, this is the location of an airfield, a small Indian village, a lodge and store. A post office was established in 1930.
