The History of Lazy Mountain

The community lies at the foot of 3,720' Lazy Mountain, 5 miles northeast of Palmer in the Mat-Su Borough. It lies at approximately 61° 37' N Latitude, 148° 57' W Longitude . The community is located in the Palmer Recording District. The area encompasses 41 sq. miles of land and 1 sq. miles of water.

Lazy Mountain is a local geographic name reported in 1951 by the U.S. Geological Survey. The area was first farmed around 1912 and continues to produce today.
