The History of Lutak

Lutak lies just north of Haines, near Chilkoot Inlet and Chilkoot Lake, 13 miles southwest of Skagway in the Haines Borough. It lies at approximately 59° 17' N Latitude, 135° 22' W Longitude. The community is located in the Haines Recording District. The area encompasses 66 sq. miles of land and 9 sq. miles of water.

The Tlingit Indian name Lutak was first published in 1923.
