South Peace Historical Society
The society was formed in 1952 to collect, preserve and display information related to the history of the Peace River area, and has an excellent history online.

The Post office and a warehouse owned by W. O. Harper, storekeeper, were destroyed by fire which broke out at 5:30 a.m. on November 25, 1942.

Albert Langdon, a prisoner, was burned to death on December 13, 1942, when the B.C. Provincial Police jail was destroyed by fire.
