White Pass & Yukon Route
Centennial Celebration

Carcross, Yukon Territory - July 29, 2000

What a party we had! Officially, 4,875 people showed up to help the White Pass & Yukon folks celebrate the 100th anniversary of the driving of the Golden Spike at Carcross. It was a family event in the best sense of the term, with lots of enterainment, food and free steam train rides, and no alcohol. Despite the weatherman's somewhat dire warnings, the Yukon's blue skies were in their full glory for most of the day.
