Alaska Freight Lines Arctic DEW Line Expedition, 1955
This home movie was shot by Joseph Kelly during a 1955 Alaska Freight Lines expedition to support the DEW Line. The expedition started in Circle, Alaska, and went to the DEW Line station at Shingle Point, Yukon. As well as the D-8 Caterpillars cutting trail and hauling the camp, and the Kenworth trucks with trailers, several aircraft of Wien Alaska, Pacific Western, Associated Airways, and the Royal Canadian Air Force are shown, as is a massive LeTourneau VC-22 Sno-Freighter "land train" (14:39).
