An Explorer's Guide to Elsa, Yukon
Part of "A Few Words From the Manager" in the First Edition, August 1973: The purpose of this monthly publication is simply to provide some interesting reading about the Company, the area and the people who live, or have lived, in the Elsa district. The emphasis will be mainly on people. Statistical and technical information will be kept to a minimum.
Each of the 31 issues from August 1973 through February 1977 is linked below - they open as a pdf in a new window. Issues #13 and #19 are missing. The newsletter numbering got messed up for a few months - there is no #28, but there are two #32s.
This collection was given to Murray Lundberg during a visit to London, Ontario, in October 2011, by Gisela Wasse, widow of Franz ("Frank") Wasse, who worked at the Husky Mine in the 1970s. The label for Frank's copies can be seen to the right. In the December 1976 edition of The Powder Magazine Frank was noted as having received an engraved silver tray as an award for 25 years of service with United Keno Hill Mines, Ltd.
